HP decides it wants to return to the “game” of Smartphones

HP Smartphone

As if the confusion of companies and operating systems out there were not enough, HP decided that it wants to be part of it again, producing mobile devices. The last experiment did not go very well, when HP tried to use a shortcut, buy the nostalgic Palm and use its technology to make big smartphones tablets. The investment did not work very well, Apple and the other companies that bet on Android, won this battle.

Citing one of HP's leaders:

We see tablets and smartphones becoming critical computing platforms and facilitators of the new suite of applications and solutions for customers spanning large enterprises, small businesses and consumers. In the short to medium term, we will focus on high-powered computing devices such as workstations for mobile productivity tools such as tablets. In the long run, let's look at the right approaches to enter the smartphone market as well.

You can see that they are not playing games and soon we will have Smartphones with that “HP” symbol on the top. The question that arises is whether the investment will continue to be made in the obsolete “WebOS” (the operating system inherited from Palm) or will they have the good sense to migrate to one of the heavyweights, Windows Phone or Android, in this case. Rumors point to the use of Android, but I prefer to wait and believe ...

Competition is always positive for users, but I sincerely hope that HP knows where it is going ...
