A province of Huambo will soon have a digital library, in order to reinforce the region's bibliographic collection and make life easier for researchers and students, according to the provincial director of Culture, Tourism and Sports, Jeremias Piedade.

The manager who was speaking on the sidelines of the World Libraries Day celebrations, reported on the existence of a national project to make the Huambo Library virtual, in order to reach more people in the province.

"It will not be difficult to implement the project, since the basic conditions are already created”, he reiterated.

BUT: Huambo. Provincial Library without computers and internet for virtual research

Currently, the Directorate of Culture controls three public libraries, one of which, Constantino Kamoli's, is closed for works. In addition to these, there are six others, but private ones, one of which, Santo Anselmo, affects the Catholic Church. The rest are schoolchildren.

The Provincial Library of Huambo, being part of the library network in Angola, is one of the three most visited in the country. Among the donors, recalled Jeremias Piedade, was the late father André Lucamba, who offered XNUMX books to the library and was honored by the institution with its own space.

Finally, the director of Culture also added that the other municipalities in the province do not have a library, but a plan is in the pipeline to implement spaces of this kind in these places.
