A Huawei it finds itself facing a somewhat controversial new indictment over the possibility that it has pressured some vendors to install a backdoor on some of its systems.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Business Efficiency Solutions (BES) in the US has filed a complaint against Huawei because the Chinese company allegedly not only stole technology from the entity, but also pressured it to install a backdoor. access for local authorities to certain equipment installed in Pakistan.
The indictment points out that the backdoor could allow Huawei to gain access to sensitive information from local citizens, as well as intercept various sensitive information from local government authorities – which could even jeopardize national security.
BES accuses Huawei of having tried to create a direct link between installing the systems in Pakistan and China.
