On 28 October Huawei Angola and Unitel presented the Corporate Social Responsibility Program Seeds for the Future 2021, which will take place from November 1-8, 2021. The program aims to develop local ICT talent and increase knowledge transfer.

It is a sociocultural, socioeconomic and technological program that aims to add values ​​to young talent who are studying higher education in the ICT areas.

The inauguration ceremony took place in Luanda and was attended by honored guests, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Mário Oliveira, Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Domingos Neto, Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao , The Angolan Ambassador to China, João Salvador dos Santos Neto in online format, the Regional HR Director of Huawei Chen Yu, the CEO of Unitel Miguel Geraldes and the CEO of Huawei Angola, Edric Chu.

In his speech, the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, Mário Oliveira, said it is a very important project for TICS, contributing to the training of many young people in technology and business, which the Government congratulates. "The sector's challenges are immense and the partnership between Huawei and Unitel is commendable, as the pandemic showed the importance of this sector in the country's economy, with emphasis on the digital”, highlights the person in charge.

The Secretary of State for Science, Technology and Innovation, Domingos Neto, reiterates urgent words to the program's promoters and defends that the Huawei initiative will increase the training levels of our young people, preparing them for the challenges of the labor market in the phase of economic challenges and the industrial revolution 4.0.

In turn, the Chinese ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, says he is convinced that this program, which starts today, will bear fruit in the future, being another occasion in which China helps in the digitization of Angola as it has been in recent times. .

The program will start on November 1st and end on November 8th and will be held online due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The training package includes socio-economic, cultural and technological aspects such as; 5G, AI, Cloud etc.

The intensive program will provide an open ecosystem that supports online learning and engagement.

The 51 participants in this edition will have the opportunity to meet and connect online with senior managers of famous companies. They will also participate in a series of virtual technology conversations with tech professionals and a virtual tour of Huawei's China headquarters to learn more about the latest technologies.

Upon completion of the training session, Huawei will issue graduation certificates to graduate students and award prizes to outstanding students.
