A Huawei ensures that it will continue to offer security updates and after-sales services on all Huawei and Honor branded smartphones that run on the Android operating system - owned by the US company Google.
Google is known to have withdrawn Huawei's license to use the US tech giant's Android operating system for mobile phones - the move follows a directive issued by U.S. President Donald Trump and forces the Chinese telecommunications company depending on an open source version of the software.
Huawei also states that 'as a leading Android partner globally, they have been working closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefited consumers and the industry'. The Chinese brand also announces that it will continue to be active: "We will continue to build a secure and sustainable software ecosystem in order to provide the best experience for all users globally".
Huawei is already preparing an alternative operating system not to depend on the United States. The idea of the Chinese brand is also to prepare for various scenarios that may happen in the near future. The first of them, and probably what will have the most impact on Huawei, is the evolution of the boycott that some countries have been making to their 5G products and smartphones.
