
Speaking to the press, Huawei's general manager for Portuguese-speaking countries, António Hou, announced that the meeting served as an opportunity for Huawei to present its projects in Angola, focusing on training talent in information technology and artificial intelligence, until 2027.
He announced that Huawei intends to build a research and development center by 2027, in addition to developing partnerships with the country's top universities.
According to António Hou, the goal is to strengthen digital inclusion and accelerate the development of strategic sectors such as education, health, and connectivity, promoting equitable access to new technologies.
He emphasized that his company will continue to contribute to Angola achieving universal access to the internet and the benefits of digital transformation.
He said that the future center, whose location is still under analysis, is part of Huawei's strategy to expand its presence in Africa, confirming that, although the investment amounts are yet to be defined, the decision to implement it has already been made.

He emphasized that his company will develop partnerships with Angolan universities to train seven thousand talented individuals in areas such as artificial intelligence, connectivity, and emerging technologies by 2027.
He revealed that, as part of the training program, five Angolan students were selected to travel to China, where they will participate in an advanced training program in information and communication technologies.
Founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei, an engineer in the Chinese People's Army, Huawei is one of China's largest private companies, headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
Present in more than 170 countries, it employs around 190 thousand people worldwide, being a world leader in telecommunications infrastructure, especially in the development of 5G technology, production of smartphones, tablets, laptops and smart devices, as well as offering solutions in cloud computing, artificial intelligence and big data.
