A group of senior students from the Electronics and Telecommunications course at the Instituto Medio Politécnico da Humpata (IMPH), Huíla province, created a prototype electric car with an alternator converted into an engine.

In an interview with ANGOP, students Amândio Pacheco, Barbosa Kanepa, João Mateus, Óscar Sefo and Yadir Minjanga said that this technological invention came during their four-year final course work, and where they obtained 20 marks in the Professional Aptitude Test .

For young national inventors, this idea of ​​creating an electric vehicle is also weighing on the tendency to reduce the use of means powered by fossil fuels and minimize harm to the environment.

Edilson Vicente, Professor of Electronics and project supervisor, speaking to the Angolan news agency, said that the creation took two months, adding that due to technological and mechanical changes, it is now possible to assemble or develop a car electric, which with investment can be mass produced in the country.

"The challenge is to make the project bigger, but our possibilities do not allow this to happen.”, he reiterated.

On the other hand, for Constância dos Santos, director of IMPH, stated that this initiative is an important creation, based on the urgent need to reverse the state of pollution on the planet, appealing to businessmen to think about the possibility of investing in the project, to mature it and make it effective.
