IMA and Microsoft establish partnership to strengthen digital economy in Angola

O Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA) of Angola and the North American multinational Microsoft recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding, to solidify the digital economy in the country.

For Meick Afonso, general director of IMA, the partnership between the two institutions will be implemented through small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, who will be able to have access to IMA technology Microsoft at subsidized cost or without cost, aiming to leverage your business, digitally.

The official said that the agreement will also strengthen the State's capacity in the field of digitization and reduce public administration costs, to increase the scale of technology adoption depending on the country's reality.

Alongside this, he advanced, the memorandum will support digital inclusion education, with emphasis on the teaching class, which will have the mission of transmitting knowledge to students.

For example, with the existence of technological adoption for 200 teachers, the program will be able to reach at least 10 million students, with the expansion of digital connectivity, according to Meick Afonso.

For the director-general, the partnership with the American multinational represents an important step towards promoting the digitization of the administrative services of the Angolan State, with a view to making life easier for citizens.

André Azevedo, director of Microsoft's digital development program, emphasizes that the signing of the agreement is a strategic partnership to accelerate the digitalization process and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.

According to the official, the signed document will bring a new dynamic and ensure the quality of the public service provided to citizens.

He added that both parties are working on a strategy to implement the Digital Acceleration Project in Angola, to be developed over a period of three years.
