Institute of Administrative Modernization (IMA) strengthened its strategic partnership with Microsoft, consolidated by Memorandum of Understanding signed on July 27, 2023, within the scope of technological development and modernization of the Public Administration of Angola.

The meeting, which was attended by Justin Spelhaug, Microsoft Vice President of Tech for Social Impact, focused on advancing two key programs: the Digital Development Program (DDP) and the Digital Public Goods Program (DPG), both led by Microsoft Tech for Social Impact and supported by the United Nations.

The implementation of the DDP is expected to yield significant results for Angola’s digital transformation. By 2030, more than 120.000 civil servants are expected to be trained, acquiring skills in key areas such as productivity, security and digital collaboration.

In the education sector, more than 160.000 teachers and 3,7 million students will be integrated into digital platforms, encouraging the use of technology as an essential tool in the teaching and learning process. In addition, the program is estimated to generate savings of $264 million over seven years, with a 70% reduction in costs compared to traditional commercial solutions.

The DDP also includes the creation of a National Network of Incubators for startups and the development of programs to encourage entrepreneurship, boosting innovation and fostering the technological ecosystem in the country.

This partnership between IMA and Microsoft is one of the pillars of digital transformation in Angola, promoting technological innovation, access to quality digital public services and reinforcing the country's commitment to building a robust and inclusive digital infrastructure.
