Imagine Cup Angola 2015

Last week, 15 Wednesday, the team of MenosFios went to the main amphitheater of the Methodist University of Angola for the final phase, at the national level, of the competition Imagine Cup 2015 sponsored by Microsoft.

A few minutes after 10 hours, Drª Rosa, Deputy Director of CTN (National Technological Center) started the event with a few words. This was followed by the presentation of the jury, which was divided by the three categories to compete; among them university professors, representatives of NCR, Rocha Monteiro, CTN, UNITEL, BAI, MICROSOFT and MenosFios.

The first category was innovation.
The first group to be presented was Software Revolution, which showed KDMM. Basically, the KDMM is software that helps patients register in more remote areas. The same is still in development, but already has the conditions to walk.

The second group was the Wassama, which appeared with the Wassama keyboard. Only functional for touchscreen computers, this keyboard is for quick typing. Unfortunately, the presentation of this group was conditioned by the lack of an HDMI cable (only juries had a more detailed view of the idea).

After the first category, it appears after the second, which is that of the games.
O first and only group, to be before the juries and of a frenetic audience, in this category is called Umagine. They brought Flirt, the game for bottling. With three levels of difficulty and, obviously, needing many improvements, the Flirt drew applause and laughter from those present. It is the first game of driving where we can find a Hiace blue and white, a little square, or even a candongueiro.

For reasons unrelated to the organization, the presentations were closed; which did not live up to the number of participants. Low competitiveness and a category without participation.

Software revolution and Umagine were the lucky winners.

The winners will represent Angola in the Imagine Cup 2015 world competition. Congratulations and good luck…
