Wireless network deployment for businesses

One of the wireless network, also known as a wireless network, is the connection to a network without the use of cables, which transmits data by electromagnetic waves via antennas.

A corporate wireless network consists of a planned network that must have strong stability and be able to support demand, especially in companies where the number of employees is high, as well as the number of devices connected to the network.

Wireless networks are based on the standards of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and can be broadly classified into four main types: WPAN, WLAN, WMAN and WWAN.

There are two ways companies can integrate wireless networks: improvised and planned. For each of them, we show some pros and cons and the situations in which they are applied. For medium and large companies, it is recommended that wireless networks be planned before their implementation.

Planning before implementation includes:

  • Security:  corporate wireless network works with several types of security protocols, such as: WEP, WPA and 802.1X.
  • Scalability: corporate wireless can be configured so that platforms operate in more than 2 to 50 access points (Access Points).
  • Configuration and deployment: have technicians with experience in the area of wireless networks for better execution.
  • Visibility and Traceability: protocols used by connected users can be viewed automatically and transparently, using various resources such as DPI - Deep Packet Inspection.

Choice of best access points and management controllers

  • A business access point different from those for home use - it has a more powerful signal distribution and a high processing capacity, since its CPU and memory have sophisticated performance. And managed through a controller, they end up offering more functionality that can be exploited.

  • The choice of inappropriate equipment that does not meet the company's needs can compromise the connection and influence its quality, stability and scalability. Therefore, it is important to know more about the functionalities and structure of computers and other machines, in order to avoid the occurrence of failures and problems.

The corporate or corporate wireless network has become a great ally of companies in recent years. However, its use, unlike a common wireless network, requires some prior planning, constant management and the adoption of appropriate configurations so that it can operate fully and according to the institution's objectives.

We can conclude that the installation of a corporate wireless network is a big step for the company to be able to fully operate its activities and, thus, be able to develop more and more. But, for that, it is necessary an adequate planning so that this technological structure is in harmony with the norm and the internal policy of the company and it is possible to offer the maximum that this connection can achieve.
