Angola will count on the help of Portugal for the implementation of the ticketing model supported by online payment methods of the commercial credit sales network.

This information was revealed at the end of a meeting between the delegation of the National Integrated Ticketing Company (ENBI) and the management of the Porto Intermodal Transport Company (TIP), in the city of Porto, in Portugal.

The Angolan delegation visited Trindade Station, one of the emblematic works of Architect Siza Viera, where it verified the operation of the model for paying tickets using a mobile phone.

"It is an emerging technology that revolutionizes the mobility sector, making it easier for passengers to pay for and access public transport. We also visited one of the largest pass issuing shops, located at Trindade Station, where we observed the pass issuing process”, said the President of the Executive Board (PCE) of ENBI, Mário Nsingui.

BUT: Angola will have a National Integrated Ticketing System

Currently, the Portuguese transport company uses the most recent payment model, which is the mobile payment technology called Near Field Communication (NFC), which issues a public transport ticket without contact.

The head of the Angolan delegation also stressed that this is one of the most learned experiences, as well as the transport inspection mechanisms and the communication and dissemination strategy of the Andante product, which means that the level of fraud in the system is situated below 5% , a notable number in ticketing, given the fact that the Porto metro system does not have “gates”.

The meeting also served to address issues related to the creation of the Associação Mobilidades Sem Fronteira, an entity made up of ticketing companies from the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), aiming at greater mobility among users of associated ticketing passes.

On this subject, the PCE of ENBI said that a user of the Giramais Card would be valid on public transport in Porto or Lisbon, or a user with an Andante, Porto or Navegante card, in Lisbon, would be accepted at the SNBI. “The proposal was accepted with enthusiasm and there was a commitment to deepen the theme in the next meetings.”, stressed the official.
