Angolan industry must invest in innovation and technology to respond to current challenges, in the opinion of the Ministry of Industry's main advisor, Manuel José.

According to the expert, it is necessary to provide the main areas of technological transformation with electricity, water and improved access, easy and flexible financing to have more investors invest in the sector.

Manuel José reiterates that the national industry “is on the right path”, but the country's industrialization is a process that depends on the coordination of other sectors such as water, energy, roads, among others, which, if improved, over five or ten years will provide an improved industry.

BUT: Sonangol defends the implementation of innovation and technology in the sector

There is a need for more joint work between these sectors, as there is still “a lot” of bureaucracy and resources are excessive, however, promoters must be more proactive, without expecting everything from the State and setting up their own small industrial units.

He highlighted if the national market is congested, the option will be export, but the product must have quality.

"The quality of national production needs to improve, we need to have more entities working on quality, more laboratories to improve. Even if we move forward with the industry, we will not be able to commercialize our products due to this lack of quality", said.
