The day is getting closer and closer to finally having the satellite with the Angola brand fully operational.
After ensuring technical conditions in Angola, with the control and mission center, located in Funda and 60 more engineers in training in Russia, to manage the center, the National Space Program now turns its focus to the commercial part .
How will Angosat be monetized?
The response began with the draft Presidential Order authorizing the constitution of the commercial company Infrasat - Telecommunications which was analyzed yesterday at the meeting of the Economic and Real Economy Commissions of the Council of Ministers and results from the restructuring of Angola Telecom.
It should be remembered that Infrasat is a Business Unit of Angola Telecom, created in 2008 to operate in the segment of satellite communications. With this "separation" of Infrasat from Angola Telecom, another step is taken to change the mode of operation of the public telecommunications company, Angola Telecom.
José Carvalho da Rocha assured that the satellite, which is now undergoing testing in Russia, will be put into orbit later this year.
The Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, ensures that the AngoSat is now in the testing phase in Russia and will be put into orbit later this year.
By assigning this responsibility, Infrasat will now have to ensure that during the 15 years the satellite is in orbit, is profitable for the state coffers and yet has competitive prices, which ensure that Angolan companies (and not only) prefer Infrasat services, than another international provider.
Angosat should cover the entire African continent and part of Europe and will operate in the “C” and “KU” bands.
