O Instagram announced that it will give users the ability to share their location with their friends via private messages.
This sharing will be active for a period of one hour, enough to allow friends to meet up for concerts, festivals and other such events.
The feature is similar to the one popularized by Snapchat and WhatsApp, but unfortunately, it is not available in all territories where Instagram is present. The social network only says that the new feature is available in “certain countries” but does not indicate which ones, so we will have to wait for more information.

This isn't the only new feature that Instagram has introduced in its private messages on the social network. The platform will allow you to give nicknames to your friends, both in individual conversations and in group conversations. What's more, you can prevent your friends from doing so if you don't like the name you've been given.
