Angolan higher education and second cycle institutions must include the teaching of Internet governance and cybersecurity in their training cycle, with a view to training staff equipped with knowledge and skills to work in the new working environment dominated by the use of new Technologies Information and Communication (ICT).
This opinion was defended by the director general of the National Institute for the Promotion of the Information Society (INFOSI), André Pedro, speaking at the first internet governance forum.
"The Internet is one of the technological resources in daily use and it is important that we continue to make efforts to regulate our presence on it, as well as the issue of cybersecurity, which is extremely important. With these forums, we want to encourage youth to explore this tool and create companies with the capacity to provide services locally in this scientific segment, creating programs and applications to solve local and national problems.", said.
BUT: Uíge: governor reaffirms commitment to digitalization of services
The governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, highlighted the meeting in the province, as it allowed the exchange of experiences with experts who master knowledge about a world where machines deal with different subjects, make decisions and solve problems.
"It is important that we, as users, understand the evolving world we find ourselves in, to discover what advantages we can obtain from this technology that is available to everyone, as we are witnessing a technological evolution with the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which already provides solutions even in our homes”, said the ruler.
According to José Carvalho da Rocha, the Provincial Government of Uíge is investing in the digitalization of services to improve their performance, having guided the Provincial Education Office to expand the project in second cycle schools, with the installation of Internet and school management, to educate students on the correct use of the Internet.
