Intel announced at the Intel Foundry event a partnership with Microsoft, which, according to the company, is valued at 15 billion dollars.

The partnership will lead Intel to produce custom 'chips' for Microsoft but, at the moment, it is not yet clear what the purpose will be for these 'chips' and they are so important for Redmond's technology.

"We are in the midst of a very exciting platform change that will transform the productivity of each individual organization and the entire industry,” said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
