Angolan researchers create mobile application to manage blood donors

A group of national researchers in Development, Perspectives and Sustainable Growth created a mobile application for the management of voluntary blood donors and transplants.

Called “More Life” and presented at the 2022 Scientific Conference of the Gregório Semedo University, the technological innovation is based on a contextualized approach in the practice of the selection process of blood and human organ donors, with a view to strengthening the stock in hospital units and to respond to the possible needs of patients.

According to engineer Celso Bernardo, one of the founders of the project, he stressed that it is a mobile application, which uses the Android development platform, with the technology web services and aims to facilitate the interaction between patients and donors, in order to optimize the process of searching and obtaining volunteers.

The Angolan innovator also added that, with the development of the “Mais Vida” application, society will have a simple tool capable of solving the problem of donation and facilitating the sharing of information between hospital units, patients and family members.

"In this way, we guarantee an automated system with efficient service”, reiterating that the application aims to disseminate information among hospital units and better control in the management of data from blood banks and transplants.

In the presentation of the project, being one of the themes proposed by the faculties of Engineering and New Technologies of the aforementioned higher education institution, it was revealed that the application has a friendly interface, easy to use and mobile, through Android and IOS.
