Investment in technology production will boost industrialization

The author of the book “Economia de Angola: digression through the genesis of national industrialization”, recently released at Memorial Agostinho Neto, Edmar Sousa who is also an economist, says that Angola can only develop sustainable industrialization with some technology “partially” produced locally.

Edmar Sousa justifies that throughout the research he verified some approach to Economic History and covers the period from the 1960s to the beginning of the XNUMXst century, “therefore, little or nothing is verified about technological innovation in this period”, at least in comparison with the technology of today.

"However, if we were to talk about the present day, we could not ignore the contribution of technological innovation to the socio-economic development of countries", said.

The writer characterized Angola's industrialization as highly concentrated in a single sector and consequently little diversified, as he argues that the oil sector, like any other, should have sustainable growth. But it is positive in relation to the sustainability of the sector and the calculation of the country that by 2050 the country can reach a higher level of industrialization, despite the current economic and structural problems.

"Yes, the development of any economy requires above all political will (from the Greek politikos, designating a citizen who lives in the city or organized society), that is, the good will of each citizen to do their best for the benefit of society in its daily activities“, He said.
