As is normal, iOS 18 is expected to leave some iOS models behind. iPhone. This is the natural process and has been happening for several years, with information already taking this for granted. The latest information seems to contradict this and now reveals that iOS 18 could reach many more iPhone models after all.

Apple is expected to reveal this new version at its annual developer conference (WWDC). Of course, it will then be developed and finished, heading towards September, where it should be revealed when the iPhone is also known.

Rumors were true that this year, as always happens, some iPhone models were going to be left out. Even though they have many years of updates, there is always a time when they stop being supported and receive more versions of Apple's mobile operating system.

BUT: [Rumor] Apple still hasn't given up on launching a foldable iPhone

With iOS 18, it was expected that some would be left behind, compared to what iOS 17 had as a base for installation. That seems to have changed now, according to a private Twitter account with a long history of sharing correct information.

Thus, iOS 18 should initially be made available for the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, then expanding to the most recent models. The latest iPhone SE models are also covered with the installation of the new version of Apple's system.

It is important to highlight that even if a certain iPhone model receives iOS 18, it may not have access to all the new features. Apple may have to limit what it offers due to hardware limitations or other issues, as has been seen in the past.

In the case of iPadOS 18 the situation will be different. What is advanced, the iPad (6.* generation), the iPad Pro (12,9 inches) (2nd generation) and the iPad Pro (10,5 inches) will not have access to the latest version and thus remain up by iPadOS 17.
