Apple does not live on iPhones alone. Such as had announced, yesterday was the day of the last event of Apple this year, and of course as we were waiting, news was not lacking. The headliner was sure to launch the new iPads that came on stage with two new versions, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3. The tablets are the segment where Apple dominates the competition and for this it is necessary to innovate, or at least update.

The iPad Air 2 comes even lighter than the previous generation being 18% thinner than the first iPad Air having only 6,1 mm thick and is the thinnest iPad made to date and is also the world's thinnest tablet, according to Apple Comparatively, by placing two iPads Air 2 one on top of the other we will have the thickness of the first iPad. On the other hand, the iPad Mini has a thickness of 7,5 mm, not being very different from the previous generation.

Contributes to this the new iPad Air 2 screen has a resolution of 2048 × 1536 spread over 9,7 inches and is now much thinner, as Apple joined the 3 panels that made up the screen, which resulted in a more compact screen and therefore resistant. Still on the screen, this time Apple presented an anti-reflective coating which allows it to stop being the enjoyment of other tablets. The iPad Mini 3 comes in exactly the same resolution as the Air 2, but on a smaller screen, 7,9 inches which allows for a higher density of pixels per inch.

The design is similar to that of the iPhone 6 with wider buttons and an all-aluminum body that allows for a more robust consistency but with thin lines, while the iPad Mini 3 does not bring much news regarding the design, which is the same as the previous generation. Another point that deserved Apple's attention was the camera. The front has 8 megapixels and a f / 2,4 aperture lens, with the possibility of taking photos in continuous mode and creating timelapses. The front camera of the iPad Air 2 has been updated with a larger aperture (f / 2,2) and superior sensor, the Mini 3 continues with the same 5 megapixel camera as its predecessor.

The Pad Air 2 will have a more powerful processor, called A8X (an evolution of A8), with 180 processing times higher than the first iPad, which will provide CPU performance up to 40% higher and graphic performance up to 2,5 times faster, this processor has 64 bit architecture. As usual, the A processor is always accompanied by its M co-processor, in this case the M8 which has as a novelty a new sensor, a barometer in addition to the other usual sensors. As for the hardware, the iPad Mini 3 brings the same hardware as the iPad Mini 2, with the A7 chipset which may not please many consumers.

There was not much news about the battery that maintains the same 10 hours duration for both iPads (depending on usage) and they now appear in three colors, gold, gray and space gray, following the wave of the 6 iPhone.
