If there were any doubts about the quality of the camera, iPhone 16 Pro Max, the top of the range of Apple's new generation of smartphones, DXoMark has already carried out the tests and the results are promising. It still has a little way to go to reach the colossus Pura 70 Ultra from Huawei (163 points), but it was just one point behind the tied Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and Honor Magic6 Pro, both with 158 points. The iPhone 16 Pro Max scored 157 points overall, tied with the Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra.
Apple's new top-of-the-range smartphone is powered by the A18 Pro processor and its photography module is made up of a trio of cameras: the main one is a 48 MP sensor with 24 mm, with OIS image stabilization and Dual Pixel AF; the ultra-wide-angle sensor has 48 MP of 13 mm and Dual Pixel AF; finally the 12 MP telephoto lens with 120 mm.
DXoMark highlights the camera's capabilities in video mode, being the best device tested so far, having surpassed the Samsung S24 Ultra. The main camera has minimal changes compared to last year's model, but improvements in image quality and overall performance have been added.

For those who want to record in 4K, you can do so without any problems with this model. The professional customization features are considered more advanced than other proposals. There is still room for improvement in the zoom capacity, with inconsistencies in textures and details still being pointed out, especially when captured in the telezoom.
In individual fields, the iPhone 16 Pro Max achieved maximum records in terms of color, registering 130 points in photography. DXoMark also considers that the photo preview on the screen is the best available, having registered 93 points. In the video field, it registered three record marks: color with 120 points, noise with 120 points and stabilization with 119 points, thus making it the best for video on a smartphone.
Still on the positive side, the equipment is considered to have good HDR throughout the zoom range, has good natural colors and white balance in renders. It also presents excellent levels of detail and textures in bright lights. Its autofocus is considered fast and accurate, in addition to the effectiveness of the video stabilizer.
On the negative side, in addition to the lack of consistency in detail across the zoom range, it lacks detail in ultra-wide-angle photos. The narrow field of view results in out-of-focus images of the background in group photos. They also present some unwanted artifacts in the image.
