Apple users can celebrate, iPhone 5 is compatible with Movicel LN 4G network

iAngolaOne of the first things you should do when buying a mobile phone is to know if it will work in your country (understand 'work' as: work to the full - beautiful word). We see cases of Angolans who travel abroad and bring smartphones with frequencies incompatible with those used by our mobile operators, the and Movicel.

With the launch of the 5 iPhone, the whole world wondered if it could be used on an LTE network outside the United States. Yes, the version A1 429 (less beautiful name given to the iPhone 5) connects to LTE networks at 850 MHz frequencies, 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz. Among the various countries covered, we can mention: Germany, United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and ... Angola.

Yes, the network (still in the test phase) works on the 1800 MHz frequency (1,8GHz, one of the frequencies already used in the GSM transmission).

Therefore, Apple users residing in Angola can purchase the iPhone 5 and enjoy speeds that can reach 100 Mbit / s. You see, I said that may, we already know how our companies not they work.

Note: without 4G, the maximum speed will reach 42 Mbit / s, using HSPA + with double carrier, something that I have not yet seen working here. If anyone has seen, please show me that I will be happy to publish.

Our famous 3G only saw 700kb per second during a download, why would you believe 4G would be better? However I stay on my UNITEL me and my iPhone, at least in terms of 3G surpasses Movicel

    • We have images that show Unitel's 3G reaching 5Mb / s… it doesn't happen all the time, but it is a considerable speed.
      Movicel's 4G has already dyed 49 Mb / s… it's acceptable.

  2. Good,

I think that in the end we ended up not understanding it well. My iphone 4S was stolen at the gas pump at Av. Brasil and I need all my contacts that I have on icloud. For this reason I will buy an iphone again.

After all, if I buy an iphone 5 now, does it work or does it not work in Angola?

    Many thanks for the reply

    • To clarify, the iPhone 5 will work in Angola without any problems ...

On the other hand, synchronize your contacts / calendar with your Gmail account. So you can even lose your iPhone, but that data will be restored on another operating system ...

  3. Very expensive,
the iPhone version compatible with the frequencies mentioned above is the model A1429 and not the A1428 as mentioned.
