ITEL creates web platform for vacancies for professional internships

The Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) created a web platform with the aim of facilitating the connection between the institution's students and companies in the technical and technological areas with availability of vacancies for professional or curricular internships.

According to what was revealed, the technological portal has already had 384 applications accepted, for internships, since it was created, four months ago, and where a good part of the candidates was absorbed by ITEL itself, which, by this means, tested the platform in the first month. The other part of the candidates was absorbed by national technological airline companies, such as Múltipla, Inefor, INACOM, Infosi, Startel, Angola Telecom, MS Telecom, Anglobal, GHS Serviços, Lomain Holding Group and Directorate of Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the National Police. So far, 18 companies are registered in the system.

Regarding the idea of ​​this platform, as revealed by Cláudio Gonçalves, director general of ITEL, it came about to correct a situation that the current management considered unfair for students, as it is a reference institution in the courses it teaches – Electronics and Telecommunications, Informatics and Multimedia Systems – I received requests from many companies to nominate the best students for internships or collaboration.

"We realized that this process was not the fairest for the students of the institution. Because, normally, if you ask for a recommendation from the director, he will be able to indicate someone with whom he has more affinity or someone he knows better. And in a universe of more than a thousand students, the principal cannot get to know all the good ones”, said Cláudio Gonçalves.

In this way, the platform emerges so that the connection between ITEL's partner institutions (companies) and ITEL students can be made. For this purpose, he said, companies register on the portal, inserting all legal data, a representative and contacts.

Students also register. In the process, they are asked to fill out a model CV. 🇧🇷We stood there on the platform with the two users. Companies and students with their resumes duly completed”, informs the director of ITEL.

Thus, when a company has a vacancy for a curricular or professional internship, it makes them available with all the descriptions. Students who are registered on the platform are notified that there is company X with vacancies Y and can, if interested, apply. The company receives these applications with the student's CV and, after analysis, selects the candidate or not.

The director of ITEL recalls that the institution has taken advantage of the human capital it forms. The most outstanding students are invited to participate in an internship and if they are successful, they start to collaborate, teaching classes or joining a school project, and may, over time, become employees of the institution. This is the case of the director himself, who completed training in 2009 and returned to the institution after completing his degree at the National Institute of Telecommunications in Brazil.
