Usually people who play on the computer prefer to use the keyboard and mouse, but sometimes, due to bad behavior or poor mapping of the buttons (often not configurable), or simply by preference, the command is chosen. The problem is that sometimes we already have the command of our console, in this case PS3 and we do not want to buy a new one just to play on the computer.

The first thing we need to do is download and install a small program called MotionJoy. You can find it in http://www.motioninjoy.com/. So we can emulate the XBox 360 controller, which is certified for windows with our PS3 controller.

This is the MotionJoy interface, but we will not need to change anything. And as you can see, you have already recognized my command.
O MotionJoy installs the necessary drivers so that the command DualShock 3 is recognized by windows and only with it it is possible to use the command to play, but because its configuration is not very simple and because it is necessary internet access to use it, we will need from another program called Better DS3. You can get it in http://www.betterds3.ciebiera.net/.
The reason we do not directly use Better DS3 is because it requires MotionJoy drivers to work. That's why we need the first one.
We will now configure it. The first time we open it it should look like this:
Now we need to connect the PS3 command to the computer and wait for the drivers to be installed. If no error occurs we will see that our command will appear in the list of connected commands.
Then we have to choose how we want to mask data entry from our command. To do this, click on the “New”And select“XInput“. The same as the XBox controller uses.
Next, the following window opens, where we can map each button on the remote. But to keep things simple and within the standard, let's select the “XBox 360” button.
This will cause the command to receive the same mapping as the XBox command and so it is much easier to use it while playing. But it's a matter of preferences.
Once you have configured the program, you will need to do two things. The first is to select the field that says “Automatically apply to controllers when connected”. So, whenever you connect the remote, it will use these settings automatically.
And the second is to name the profile and save those same settings. As you can see I gave the profile the name of XBox.
