Angolan civil society will have a mobile application that allows scheduling medical consultations in public and private hospitals, emergency triage in real time, providing information on doctors in service, as well as locating open hospitals in various areas of the country.

The innovative project is authored by the Angolan computer engineer António Fábio da Silva, who thought of this application with the aim of reducing, as much as possible, the long queues registered in hospital units when scheduling appointments.

With the name of "And health”, the application provides information on the location of pharmacies closest to the hospital unit where the patient is treated, as well as the possibility of purchasing medications prescribed by the doctor.

"If an individual, in a certain area of the country, feels unwell, the application provides information on the existence or not of a hospital nearby", said the Angolan inventor, also informing that the application will be available at the beginning of next March, on the Play Store platforms of Google and Apple, adding that"The app is currently loading.”, he stressed.

Still talking to journalists, Jornal de Angola, António Fábio da Silva said that the use of georeferenced information from Google Maps makes it possible for users to better visualize the location of the health units, showing all the places that are within a radius of 100 kilometers away from the patient.

"This location can still be customized, allowing the interested party to choose a point and a search radius.”, he informed.

The computer engineer also assured that all provincial hospitals were already available in the application, adding that, in the coming days, all units of the National Health Network present in the country would be available.

"Health unit managers will only need, at the end of the month, to upload the map of doctors, nurses and support staff for the month. The application, in turn, will manage”, said Fábio da Silva.

On the other hand, it was known that the private units that want to appear in the application must go to the same (application) and register, where “The act of registration and permanence of the hospital unit, in the application, has no cost. It's completely free”, assured the inventor.

It should also be informed that, in the words of the engineer, the project has a social scope and was created to reduce, as much as possible, the long queues registered in public hospital units when scheduling appointments, also informing that the application began to be tested in June of last year and ensured that the results were satisfactory.
