Several young Angolans are being trained in Satellite Communication, VSAT Antenna Assembly and Maintenance, a training cycle taught by specialists from the National Space Program Management Office(GGPEN) and young ambassadors for Space Education, at the ITEL Technological Center (CFITEL).

The classes are allowing trainees to acquire practical experience in the telecommunications area, as well as aiming to transfer technical, laboratory and field knowledge and experiences, with the main objective of increasing the training capacity of CFITEL, in particular and at national level, in general in Fundamentals, Techniques and Procedures for Installation and Maintenance (preventive and corrective) of VSAT Antennas.

"Trainees learn all the procedures to maintain stable satellite communication, from how to carry out a technical survey, obtain azmuth and elevation values, how to orient the antenna and how to adjust the polarization, and other highly relevant requirements such as cable continuity tests and modem configuration”, said Laurindo Canzau, one of the trainers who was trained by GGPEN experts.

Participants in this training, together with GGPEN specialists, are transferring the knowledge learned in the course taught at CFITEL, which aims to provide trainees with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to install, configure and guarantee the maintenance of VSAT antennas, in C and KU bands of type satellites ANGOSAT-2, And not only.

It also aims to provide future technicians with a solid knowledge of the fundamentals and techniques used in satellite communication, with a special focus on radio frequency (RF) aspects.
