Angola will reinforce measures to cyber security with the operationalization of the Electronic Transactions Law, in the opinion of the representative of the Number Resource Society (NRS), Paul Binam.

The specialist who spoke to the press on the occasion of the 1st Information and Exchange Conference on “Good Internet Governance”, expressed this position focusing more on the aspects of awareness raising and institutional training, which he considers to be crucial.

In his speech, Paul Binam defended the need to produce an awareness plan within the framework of a National Digital Transformation Agenda, so that the use of the Internet becomes effective and stable for everyone.

BUT: Cybersecurity in Africa: time to act

In this context, as a contribution to improving this process in Angola, NRS intends to maintain dialogue with internet provider agents and other entities linked to telecommunications to implement free training actions for citizens.

Paul Binam expressed his intention to operate in the country, highlighting that the African continent is in a critical situation as around 500 companies are affected by piracy in information networks every month.

The managing partner of FD Group Angola, Leojovilda Nogueira, said that despite the Government's strong performance in ensuring a digital ecosystem favorable to the development of the Information Society and among several actions, it is necessary to implement competence and digital skills to increase levels of Digital Literacy and cooperation in various dimensions.
