Li-Fi, innovation of traditional Wi-Fi

2469

A new technology called “Light Fidelity" Or"Li-Fi" was in the laboratory test phase and has already shown very promising results, being faster than the Wi-Fi conventional. With this we can expect faster connections in the near future than we currently have.

With speed predictions above 200GB per second, just to have an idea is the same as downloading more than 10 HD quality movies in the blink of an eye. THE Li-Fi is being tested “in the real world” in Tallinn, Estonia, where a speed equivalent to 1GB per second has already been achieved.

Like radio waves, visible light is part of the electromagnetic spectrum. The difference is that visible light has a 10.000 spectrum times greater than that of radio waves. In short, Li-Fi has greater potential because of the greater capacity of transfer, since instead of the transfer occurring by only one data flow, with the Li-Fi you can transfer the same information using thousands of data streams simultaneously

How it works

LI-Fi

A Li-Fi it works via LED lamps alternately (similar to the operation of a flashlight) at very high speeds invisible to the human eye, sending data to the receiver in binary code. All you need to do is include micro-chips in receiver devices which would combine two basic features: lighting and wireless transmission, in other words the infrastructure is already present and special LED lamps can be used.

Will it be the end of Wi-Fi?

Li-Fi will not retire the Wi-Fi immediately, although faster, visible light does not pass through solid objects, unlike radio waves. For example if you are using the Li-Fi  in the room, if you go to the room, you lose the connection. For those who need high security in their data this particularity is indeed advantageous, otherwise only with the hybrid use of Li-Fi  e Wi-Fi.

Until now with more news.
