The local version of LinkedIn in China will no longer work, according to an announcement made by the platform itself, and shared by the The Washington Post, where he justifies that the decision is due to «a significantly more challenging operating environment" and with "greater compliance requirements», in the person of Mohak Shroff, the company's Senior Vice President of Engineering.

In the publication shared by the manager, he recalls that the version of LinkedIn in China was launched in February 2014 with the aim of continuing the mission of connecting professionals from around the world. And, despite having recognized early on that it would be necessary to obey that country's strict rules regarding online platforms, the scenario has become unsustainable in recent years.

«While we have been successful in helping Chinese members find work and economic opportunities, we have not had the same level of success in the more social aspects.», says Mohak Shroff, referring to the sharing of information.

LinkedIn will be completely closed in China by the end of the year, but that doesn't mean LinkedIn will disappear from the country. According to what was found, LinkedIn's new strategy is based on the launch of an alternative platform, called InJobs, which will work independently and exclusively in China.

This new application will not have a social side nor will it allow you to publish or share articles. Its only function will be to promote job openings.
