Due to the growing interest and subsequent space exploration, it is no longer news that the Earth is becoming surrounded by space junk. Based on this misfortune, a professor at the University of Utah claimed that planet Earth is having rings similar to Saturn's, but made up of space junk.

Space junk has become a serious and current problem in the world, which according to what was reported by WEE forum, each of us will throw away or recycle an average of 7,6 kg of phones, computers, toasters and other electrical or electronic appliances. The report continues that worldwide there will be 57,4 million tons of electronic waste, an accumulation that exceeds the weight of the largest artificial object built by mankind: the great Wall of China

BUT: Study shows another method for cleaning up space junk

Therefore, several private companies have tried to develop solutions for its elimination, but even so, it becomes complicated to deal with it, due to the number of satellites and other objects that are sent into space for its exploration, in order to amplify the knowledge. More than that, spacecraft, probes and even tourists intended to be sent into space are also a threat to the space environment.

Speaking to The Salt Lake Tribune, university professor Jake Abbott said that the current scenario is very worrying, where he predicts that the Earth could soon begin to resemble Saturn.

"Earth is on the way to having its own rings. They will just be made out of garbage.says Abbott.

According to the European Space Agency, it is estimated that there are 170 million pieces of space debris over a millimeter wide, in orbit, where this same space debris has already endangered the safety of the International Space Station, as well as that of satellites and other space objects that are still active.
