As part of the company's ongoing commitment Mastercard connecting women in Africa to the possibilities and opportunities that will enable them to earn a living, follow their passions and contribute to our collective prosperity, the Mastercard launched its first digital program called Girls4Tech Connect in partnership with Junior Achievers Nigeria.

Launched in 2014, Girls4Tech offers activities and a curriculum based on global sciences and mathematical standards. It incorporates the profound experience of Mastercard in technology and innovation, allowing students to discover a variety of careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), as a fraud detective, data scientist and software engineer.

Beginning as a face-to-face session run by volunteer employees, the program has been expanded to cover topics such as artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, with enhanced access to the STEM curriculum through a digital learning experience - Girls4Tech Connect - like the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a global increase in online learning.

In partnership with Junior Achievers Nigeria, the program Girls4Tech Connect will be hosted as a webinar, and will take place on March 11, 18 and 25, 2021. As part of the program's course work, participants will gain valuable insight into the various STEM career opportunities in areas such as algorithms, digital convergence and cryptography, all of which are buzzwords in the 4th Industrial Revolution.
