MED and Unitel train young people in CCNA certification in Benguela

More than fifteen students from the Industrial Polytechnic Institute of Benguela (IPIB) received certification from “Cisco Certified Network Associeted”, enabling them to access the job market, in a training cycle offered by the mobile telephone operator Unitel.

With 3 modules, over 7 hours, candidates learned to install, configure, operate and troubleshoot networks, including implementing and verifying connections at sites or remote units connected via the network.

According to the senior manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Unitel, Cecília Fernandes, the aforementioned students attended online training, promoted by their company, in partnership with the Ministry of Education.

The person responsible stated that, in secondary education, where the Cisco Network Academy certification is included, training was made available to students and teachers with the aim of providing these professionals with specific skills, so that they can enter the job market through entrepreneurship.

"These students can compete for higher education scholarships, promoted by Unitel, as long as they meet the requirements, depending on the result they can achieve.", said.

It was also revealed that students will receive a six-month paid internship and if they perform positively, they may also obtain a work contract.

"We currently have five students with access to scholarships and who already work at Unitel”, he informed.

Cecília Fernandes also said that the company's strategy is to educate society. “Even if they do not join Unitel, they have the skills required to enter the job market“, he emphasized.

After receiving his certificate, young Luís Francisco said that he aspires to work in the assembly and implementation of computer networks, both on a small and large scale.

Larice Damião promised innovation and assured that companies such as Unitel, TV Cabo or Angola Telecom can count on their services in the “Network” sector.

"I encountered some difficulties during training, but they weren't enough to make me give up.”, she stated satisfied.
