A Meta have plans to shut down the messaging app Lite Messenger for Android during the month of September.
The news was advanced by the 9to5google website and later confirmed by Meta to the TechCrunch website. Meanwhile, Messenger Lite users have already reported that the app is redirecting users to the traditional version of the service.
"Starting August 21st, people using the Messenger Lite app for Android will be redirected to Messenger or Facebook Lite to send and receive messages through Messenger", explained a spokesperson for Meta.

It is worth remembering that the Messenger Lite app was launched for less powerful mobile phones, so that the application had such an impact on the device's performance.
