A Meta, the tech giant we all know, has teamed up with the legendary Oakley to launch the Oakley Meta HSTN, smart glasses that are pure style and innovation. Announced on June 20, 2025, these glasses promise to be the perfect companion for athletes and adventure lovers.

The Oakley Meta HSTN (“HOW-stuhn”, is the pronunciation indicated by the manufacturers) is the new bet from Meta in the world of wearables, after the success of the Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses. This time, the idea is clear: to create a robust gadget, designed for those who live on the move – be they cyclists, runners or even surfers.

Technical characteristics

First, the 12MP integrated camera is a real highlight. Capable of recording videos in 3K (yes, a leap from the 1080p of the Ray-Ban Meta), it allows you to capture your adventures in impressive quality, all without having to touch your phone.

Want to share that epic moment on Instagram? Just say the word! And speaking of hands-free, HSTNs come with open-ear speakers and built-in microphones, perfect for listening to music, answering calls or chatting with Meta AI, the virtual assistant that answers questions about the environment around us or even translates languages in real time.

Another highlight is the battery, with up to 8 hours of continuous use and 19 hours of standby time, with a charging case that offers an additional 48 hours of power. As these are sports glasses, users don't need to worry about sweat or rain – the glasses are IPX4 certified for water resistance.

Meta also invested in the design, inspired by Oakley's HSTN style, with PRIZM lenses that improve contrast and visibility in different light conditions.

Price

The limited edition Oakley Meta HSTN retails for $499, with pre-sales starting July 11.

For those who want something more affordable, other versions will be available starting at $399, with a release scheduled for late summer.

These glasses will be on sale in countries such as the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia and several in Europe, with plans to expand to other markets later this year.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took the opportunity to promote the glasses on Threads, highlighting that these glasses are “made for action”, and with improvements like greater durability and a more powerful camera, it’s hard not to get excited.
