Meta is facing a serious challenge with its Artificial Intelligence project. In the midst of the technological race, the company has invested more than most of its competitors, building two enormous data centers. Reports indicate that, in the next three years, infrastructure spending in the United States could reach $600 billion.
The situation gained prominence this week after Meta released its quarterly results, which showed a $7 billion increase in operating expenses and nearly $20 billion in capital expenditures, resulting from heavy investment in AI talent and infrastructure that has not yet generated significant revenue.
When questioned by analysts, Mark Zuckerberg stated that spending will continue to grow.
“The right step is to accelerate to ensure we have the necessary computing power, both for AI research and for the new projects we are developing. Our vision is that, when we have the new MSL models with unique capabilities, we will have a huge opportunity before us,” explained the CEO of Meta.
