A Meta, owner of Facebook and Instagram, launches this Friday (24) a paid account verification service on these two social networks, with a price starting at around 5.500 kwanzas per month.

Meta Verified, which will include additional benefits and functions, including 'account verification stamps', will cost US$11,99 (6.040 kwanzas) a month, or US$14,99 (7.552 kwanzas), if purchased through the application iOS, and is mainly aimed at content creators.

In addition to the 'account verification badge', the subscription includes “proactive account protection, access to account assistance and increased visibility and reach”.

BUT: Elon Musk “it was inevitable that Facebook and Instagram would copy Twitter”

It should be noted that these social networks will continue to be free of charge for users, with only these complementary services being paid for.

The new service is tested, first, in Australia and New Zealand, being later launched in other countries, and is aimed only at people over 18 years old, with companies excluded.

Meta's executive director, Mark Zuckerberg, announced that the option will be available on both Facebook and Instagram, but they will be separate subscriptions.

Subscription offers have become popular for social media companies in recent years as a way to diversify their businesses, which rely heavily on advertising.
