Microsoft recently introduced a new version of Windows 10 called “Windows 10S”That will only run applications that are in the Windows Store, which will be an even more secure system, with no need to install third-party applications outside the company's application store.

Through a slide that leaked over the Internet, Microsoft accidentally revealed the version of Windows for advanced users, described as "Windows 10 Pro for advanced PCs". The new version appears to meet significant hardware demands.

“Windows 10 Pro for advanced computers” comes with four main features:

  1. Workstation Mode: Microsoft plans to optimize the operating system by identifying “typical computational and graphics intensive workloads” to provide maximum performance and reliability when Workstation mode is enabled.
  2. Resilient file system: Microsoft's successor to the file system for NTFS, Called Refs, is enabled in this new version, with support for fault tolerance, optimized for large volumes of data and self-correction.
  3. Faster file manipulation: Because workstation machines are typically used for large data volumes on networks, Microsoft includes the protocol SMBDirect for file sharing and high throughput, low latency and low CPU utilization when accessing network shares.
  4. Expanded hardware support: Microsoft also plans to allow Windows 10 Pro to workstation on machines with up to 4 CPUs and a memory limit of 6 TB. Currently, Windows 10 Pro only supports 2 CPUs.

Microsoft is clearly idealizing this new edition of Windows 10 for advanced users who process massive amounts of data every day. This is likely to be used primarily in business scenarios.
