Cortana

The big bet of the big companies tech is to invest in the automotive world. At last year's developer conference, Microsoft revealed its plans to launch a special platform for cars. In that presentation, Microsoft showed that it planned to transfer the contents of the phone to a touch screen of the car, so that the contents could be easily accessed. One of the points that was not focused on in the presentation, is the ability to control the device using voice commands, such as with Android Auto and Apple car allow ...

Now this Microsoft project has evolved to include Cortana Cortana personal assistant. This revelation was made by Microsoft in Taiwan, by Samuel Shen, chief operating officer of Microsoft Research Asia. Integration with Cortana lets drivers make restaurant reservations or view their favorite places thanks to the virtual map.

According to Samuel Shen:

no similar products were launched due to the high cost but we hope to have more discussions with Taiwan partners to jointly explore future possibilities.

Microsoft has partnered to provide in-car entertainment systems over the years. Among the partner companies, Ford, Kia, BMW, Nissan, Fiat stand out, who used special versions of Windows to create their own interfaces and systems. Unfortunately, Microsoft software has been customized for each manufacturer, so no standards have emerged.

If Microsoft manages to bring its latest concept, using Cortana, then we will have serious competition with Apple's CarPlay or Google Android Auto.
