The process of migration of Public Television of Angola (TPA) from the old analogue system to the digital system is currently underway, in order to respond to the challenges of technological evolution of TV, according to the words of the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Nuno Caldas Albino.

The official was speaking at a meeting with journalists from Benguela province, last Tuesday, where he said that the migration of the analogue TV signal, through which the public television signal in Angola is still transmitted, to digital, through a The system called (DTT), Digital Terrestrial Television, is being implemented with funding from Japan, with the pilot experience having started in February 2020, in the country's capital.

With this migration, viewers will have access to images with high definition, better sound quality and interactive applications that offer a richer experience for users of channels 1 and 2 of TPA.

Nuno Caldas Albino also added that the national government watches “with some concern" the emission "until recently” of the television signal via the analogue system.

"But we are already working on the migration to the digital system, to meet the current challenges of the new paradigm and, above all, of new technologies”, he guaranteed, emphasizing, however, the need to meet and ensure the technical and technological modernization of the media.

In the same conversation, the Secretary of State made it known that the Government intends to ensure better accommodation so that journalists and media cadres can better perform their functions in public bodies.

Finally, he also referred that the program of resizing the Government's institutional communication was nearing completion, adding that at this stage it is imperative to assume a posture of greater proximity and interaction and that the authorities communicate more and better.
