MINTTICS committed to improving telephone and internet services

The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) reaffirmed, last Wednesday (12/05), the commitment to the continuous improvement of the provision of public and basic telephony and internet access services.In a message alluding to the International Telecommunications and Information Society Day, which marks the 17th of this month, the ministerial department considers the sector to be fundamental in the process of modernizing governance, social and economic development and social inclusion.

In view of the current moment marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, MINTTICS urges professionals in the sector to continue to work with courage and dedication, to ensure the services of electronic communications and the strengthening of the prevention and fight against Covid-19, with the support technological means available.

To users, the ministry calls for the responsible use of digital services and social networks. Official data indicate that Angola has more than 15 million mobile phone subscribers, 7 million internet users and more than 2 million pay-TV users.

World Telecommunication and Information Society Day aims to encourage actions that draw people's attention to the changes that happen with the internet and other forms of telecommunication.
