Part of the Integrated Radio Spectrum and Numbering Management System (SIGERN), this Regional Center, which will be interconnected with the National Communications Monitoring Center in Luanda, is an infrastructure dedicated to the management, monitoring and control of the compliance of communications services in Benguela.

Essentially, the infrastructure, which after some time of experimental operation officially came into operation today, aims to guarantee a better offer of services to consumers, with quality and at more affordable prices.

Speaking at the event, Minister Mário Oliveira said that the opening of this modern enterprise marks the beginning of a long journey of work, aimed at ensuring strong regulation and thus enabling the telecommunications and information technology sector to contribute to the country's development.

The minister also indicated that the inauguration of this center reflects the fulfillment of another postulate of the National Development Plan (PDN), 2023-2027, with a view to achieving the objectives defined by the Government for the telecommunications and information technology sector.

Specifically, Mário Oliveira mentioned the prospect of transforming telecommunications and information technology into a vibrant sector that effectively contributes to the country's development, with repercussions on the daily lives of citizens.

The Minister also highlighted the fact that the Regional Communications Monitoring Center is a modern infrastructure that, on the one hand, will bring a wealth of knowledge and, on the other, will allow for the organization and regulation of the use of the radio spectrum.

In this way, the head of the MINTTICS portfolio says that he will be able to guarantee greater and better air and sea navigability and also improve the provision of services by telecommunications companies.

"Telecommunications and radio operators will be able to provide better service to our citizens because they will have access to infrastructure here that will help ensure their service has the desired quality," he noted.

On the other hand, the Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication thanked the Provincial Government of Benguela for its support, so that this and other infrastructures that the sector has installed in the province “reach a successful conclusion”.

It is in this sense that the minister announced that more meteorological sensors are being installed in the province of Benguela, namely to support air navigation and also seismic sensors, which will increase the seismic detection network at the country level.

"We are here to contribute to the development of the province in its various sectors: industrial and agricultural, and all those that can transform Benguela," concluded Minister Mário Oliveira.
