Teachers and managers from different public universities in the central and northern areas of Mozambique benefited from training at the Licungo-Extension University of Beira with a view to acquiring skills to teach content via online.

According to the director of promotion of the National System of Assessment, Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Higher Education (SINAQUES), Jorge Fringe, this is an initiative that initially emerged in response to the challenges imposed by Covid;19 when universities were forced to adopt hybrid teaching and many teachers were still not prepared.

Jorge Fringe added that it was following this option that it was concluded that this is a practice that must be adopted on a daily basis to contribute to improving the quality of teaching.

He made a point of stating that the educational innovation project that aims to train teachers and managers in hybrid teaching is one of the biggest trends in education in the XNUMXst century.

"Even though we know that we are returning to normal, we believe that hybrid learning is here to stay because it is also a form of study. This is not intended to ban face-to-face classes, but rather that both modalities can go together“, he clarified.

He highlighted that hybrid teaching will therefore be an added value because it allows the student to study without any barriers even if they are not 100% in the classroom.

The training lasted five days and several modules related to different components of hybrid learning were presented.
