Mozambique in the spotlight at the Cybersecurity Conference in Portugal

Mozambique was one of the main countries that participated in the 8th Cyber ​​Security Conference in Portugal, called C-Days 2022, organized by the National Cybersecurity Center (CNCS), at the Estoril Conference Center, Portugal, bringing together specialists and amateurs in the area of ​​cybersecurity to debate the sector.

With the motto “Betting on Prevention”, the C-Days Conference featured speakers from different areas, including managers, professionals, academics, students and the general public, who provided discussions and reflections aimed at consolidating the levels of cybersecurity in the ecosystem.

Among the speakers, emphasis goes to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (INTIC), Lourino Chemane, who spoke on the panel on Geopolitics and Cybernetic Insecurity, together with Felipe Pathé Duarte, from Nova Scool of Law, and Luís Barreira de Sousa, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal.

The Mozambican delegation included, in addition to INTIC staff, officials from other public institutions such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, Bank of Mozambique and the National Institute of Communications of Mozambique (INCM).

Mozambique’s participation in the event is the result of the partial implementation of the Cooperation and Collaboration Plan between INTIC and the CNCS of Portugal, agreed in 2021, which includes the integration of Mozambique as an observer in cybersecurity exercises in Portugal and CNCS staff , in INTIC's training activities in the area of ​​cybersecurity over the next two years.
