
The Mozambican President inaugurated two solar energy production plants in the interior of the country, budgeted at around 160 million meticais (around 2,4 million euros), announced the Mozambican Energy Fund.
The plants will make it possible to bring electricity to communities that are not covered by the national electricity grid in the districts of Cahora Bassa and Marávia, in Tete province.
"In a first phase, 200 consumers are already connected”, including state administrative services, schools and health centres, in addition to housing and commercial developments.”, announces Funae, a Mozambican public institution, in a statement.

The plants will also supply public lighting infrastructure.
The two plants intend to accelerate the country's goal of achieving “universal access to energy by 2030”, he concludes.
Currently, Funae has 76 photovoltaic systems across the country, benefiting 580 schools, 560 health centers and 74 administrative post buildings, in addition to economic enterprises.
