[Mozambique] Population of Chipera, Maravia district, clamor for mobile phone network

The population of the administrative post of Chipera, in the district of Maravia, 371 kilometers from the provincial capital, calls for the mobile phone signal.

Weres Avelino considered that in almost all the posts in Chipera there is no network and when they want to make calls, receive or send messages they have to travel to other regions.

"Here, to be able to talk, it is necessary to go to the mountain from where it is possible to have the signal of two mobile telephones. It's not easy, but we've lived like this for a long time.”, He stated.

Esperança Cipriano revealed that he ended up finding another place near the mountain, from where he can access the network without having to climb the mountain. He said that, despite being an administrative post without a network, there are credit merchants, which makes it easier for them to some extent, as Chipera is far from almost everything.

Samsone Benjamin explained that one of Chipera's familiar phrases is "I'm going to the network to make a call and I'll be right back".

He pointed out that, normally, he has gone to the health center, where not all types of mobile phones can capture the network, as is the case with smartphones, for example.

Estone Melo indicated, in turn, that this situation is embarrassing and who should invest so that the local population also has the benefits of cellular telephone communication, including making financial transactions.

He referred that this is a difficult life, especially for those who leave the city or a district headquarters to go to work in that post, even if temporarily.
