Movicel claims to be forcing clients to join more expensive plans

Recently Movicel guaranteed to be prepared to face the next challenge with four operators and defends that it has a wide range of services to offer its customers.

With the aim of combating false news in relation to the company, Movicel, through a press release, rejects the news that has been published, the content of which refers to unfounded information that realizes that  “Movicel is forcing customers to join more expensive plans”. The same information posted on some Internet portals shows a bad faith action by the media that did not confront the information sources with the operator.

What really happened to the previous plans?

Regarding the matter, Movicel has been sending messages to all its customers informing about the discontinuity process of the old plans, from the last 28/12/2017 to the present moment.

The same communiqués clarify that Movicel, within the scope of its commercial strategy for 2018, still living up to the mission of providing a quality service that satisfies the desires of its target audience, the operator chose to reformulate the old plans , as these are no longer suited to the communication needs of customers. Therefore, customers will have the option to choose plans with better benefits where some include unlimited calls to the Movicel network and unlimited messages to all networks.

    I am writing for the first time for your site because I feel that you are being connived in a well-declared theft that the movicel agreed to establish.

    I am a consumer (customer) of movicel and I use the old 2500 Kzs plan that today costs 3500 Kzs (due to the increase in the “balance” prices).
    My plan today called “old plan” has:
    - 200 minutes for other networks
    - 500 minutes to the Movicel network
    - 500 MB of Internet and
    - 500 msn for all networks.

    The plan that Movicel is requiring me to activate due to the discontinuation of the old plan is “Karga Tudo +” which costs 3300 Kzs, and is packed with:
    - 60 minutes for other networks
    - 600 minutes to the Movicel network
    - 1 GB of Internet and
    - 600 msn for all networks.

    Seen this way, it is understood in a broad sense that the value of the old plan is higher than the value of the Karga Nice plan, which will weigh less on the customer's pocket (with 200 Kzs). However, if we consider a restricted comparison of the two plans, it is clear that the old plan favors the consumer in conversations on the other networks (e.g. Angola Telecom and Unitel), with 140 more minutes. The new one, if we want, has 500 MB of net and more messages, but it does not exceed what the customer wants most (to chat).

    According to a conversation with tour operators in one of movicel's stores, they claimed that there will be this discontinuity due to a significant improvement in the quality of their products and services and also because it is no longer possible to activate the plan automatically.

    And I ask. Improving the communication service is not unlike maintaining plans and improving this…

    • I also have this 3500 plan which was previously 2500, so I don't see any advantage to the new plan that Movicel is requiring customers to join.
      Movicel should assume that it is increasing the price of plans and not try to make it seem like it is implementing more attractive plans, I don't see anything attractive, in this case for less than 200 kz I immediately lose 140 minutes to other networks.
