As promised in a series of teasers released in recent days, the OnePlus presented its newest concept phone at MWC 2023, the OnePlus 11 Concept.
The technology that the company demonstrates with this prototype is Active CryoFlux, the first active liquid cooling system to be implemented in a smartphone, promising significant temperature drops that would benefit tasks that usually stress the device, such as playing heavy titles and even charging the phone. .
Being essentially a OnePlus 11, the concept cell phone's main differential is the Active CryoFlux system, which combines two piezoelectric ceramic micro pumps of less than 0,2 cm³ in volume with a series of heatpipes that circulate a coolant liquid through the battery, area of processor and other device components. Considering the reduced space, the operation is quite ingenious, making these copper pipes act both as sinks and as radiators, cooling the device little by little.
The MenosFios team was in contact with the phone, where the technology seems to have no impact on the dimensions and weight of the OnePlus 11, but promise significant benefits. The technology would be able to reduce temperatures by up to 2,1 ℃ in intense use, providing, for example, 3 to 4 more FPS in games, and up to 1,6 ℃ during fast loading, which would result in a reduction in time total recharge between 30 to 45 seconds.
The OnePlus 11 Concept STILL brings an extremely premium look, designed to draw attention. The glass rear is transparent, extends to the sides and makes the heatpipes visible, being illuminated by blue LEDs so that the coolant path is visible. There is use of carbon fiber in the body, and the circular module of cameras has a special finish with a design that used the guilloche technique, seen in luxury watches, in addition to more blue lighting.
Full specifications were not reported, but considering that the device is based on the OnePlus 11, the technical sheet should be almost the same as the traditional flagship. Despite this, it is important to note that there is no prediction of when liquid cooling technology will hit the market — in fact, being a concept, it is possible that Active CryoFlux will never reach users. At best, the model should inspire innovations in future giant launches.
