After appearing in several leaked images over the past few weeks, the Tecno Phantom V Fold was officially shown at MWC 2023. The device arrives as the brand's first foldable to rival models like the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Magic Vs and Xiaomi MixFold 2.

For this, the smartphone has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus processor. It is the first time that the chipset appears in a folding cell phone with a “book” format – however, the component is already equipped in the OPPO Find N2 Flip, a flexible option with more compact dimensions.

In addition, its camera system has a 50 MP main sensor “ultrasensitive to light”, according to what the brand said. However, Tecno has not released details related to the other components.

Anyway, it is known that the set has a total of five lenses, three of which are on the rear panel. The other two are aimed at selfies: one, on the rigid external screen, and the other on the flexible internal display.

The company also confirmed other more basic details about the device, such as support for 5G and a tray for two nano SIM chips.

However, a lot of technical information about the Phantom V Fold remains unknown. Over the next few days, the company will be able to present details related to screens and battery, for example.

A detail that usually causes curiosity in this type of smartphone is its construction. In its most recent generations, competing companies have presented solutions to allow the device to fold completely, without spaces between the two parts of the screen - it is still not possible to say whether Tecno already offers this technology in its model.

Durability is also an aspect that is gaining importance in these smartphones, where some options have already gained IP certification against water or support for use with a stylus pen. Again, it will be necessary to wait and see if the Phantom V Fold will offer something in this regard.
