Electronic commerce in Angola has gained prominence in recent years. The emergence of stores, delivery services and other associated elements has convinced entrepreneurs to invest in online selling solutions. Despite the evolution, the forms of payment have limited, to some extent, the progression of this segment.
A few days ago an advertisement made those who saw it curious: “Angola Will Change“, The BAI and NEXT logos were stamped in that advertising, implying that some payment-related solution was on the way.
Speculation about the new service began to fade when Sérgio Maziano, CEO of Next, took the stage and kicked off the event and talked about the solutions Next offers, focusing on local problem solving with Angolan developers.
Fabio Correia, BAI Marketing Director, spoke about BAI's experience with Angolan Startups and the reason for betting on Next. Next, João Alexandre, CSO of Next, unveiled the product: Box, an application for buying tickets for events in Angola, with payment system integrated with BAI Directo.
To explain the benefit of this Ticket purchase app, Nuno Mortágua, Commercial Director at ZAP spoke about ZAP Cinemas' integration with the BOX platform, enabling a complete user experience, from buying a movie ticket, choosing a seat, buying popcorn and drinks, without leaving the app (provided you have the BAI Direct service).
Launch
The app is ready and will be available soon for Android and iOS devices.
We had a chance to test for a few minutes and no doubt that for those with the BAI Directo service, you will have a simplified experience when buying tickets.
However, who was in the release, certainly wondered: Will the integrated payment system be left for this application alone, or does Next have any other ideas?
Next announced early in the event that this was the first of many events and more news awaits Angolan users in the coming months.
